OUR STORY
An Estate With a Tale
The story of the forested estate named 'Airfield' and its connection to a Dublin estate dating back to 1830 vividly reflects its Irish heritage. Originally owned by the affluent barrister Thomas Mackey Scully, it was later acquired by Trevor Overend and his wife, Lily. The Overend family, including their daughters Letitia and Naomi, were renowned for their philanthropy, extensive travel, and ardent passion for classic cars, journeying through the Irish countryside in their vintage vehicles. Subsequently, Ciaran O’Hara, a compatriot of the founder of Mussoorie, acquired the estate in the early 19th century.
The Nabha Family
In the 20th century, the estate experienced several transitions of ownership. In 1903, Lieutenant Stanley Skinner of Hansi purchased the property, which was subsequently acquired by W.A. Gordon in 1904. The estate's association with the Nabha family began in 1949 when Her Highness Urmilla Devi, Maharani Sahiba of Nabha and wife of Maharaja Pratap Singh of Nabha, acquired the property. This acquisition marked a significant chapter in the estate's history.
